Nothing gets saved as far as defending attacks, so it doesn't matter to a defender

I attaked an inactive with around 80lf 15mf and a handful of cruisers, battleships, bombers and evan a destroyer. The defender had both shields and only 1rl, 1ll, 1hl and 1ic. Picked up his resources but didn't destroy any of his defenses! I guess this must be that 70% chance of survival battle system. Dang! Is there a way I could have a better shot at knocking down his defenses? thx.

IPMs. Build a missile silo to lvl4, impulse engine increases range, higher silos give more storage.

Aren't IPM's designed to take out shields? Will they take out the other defenses too?

Yes on the second question.

When sending IPMs, you can choose to target a specific defense or all of the defense. They would have to go through the ABMs though.
