Stories

#1
I wanted to make this thread for people to post there stories in. I saw two stories written by Istalris, the first was the Hunt, the second, Jaelstis's Destiny, if I am correct, and they were both pretty good in my opinion. I just wanted people to be able to post the stories under one thread, unstead of taking up more space on the forums.

If you are concerned about people cluttering this forum, please refrain from double posting. Edit your previous message.

As far as this forums goes, its chat so people can post their stories in a seperate topic if they so wish.

Ooooo, can I go? :D

Okay, well I'm actually begining to write this little book called "It's the Little Things", and it's all about the little things in life that make me happy :D. All the "chapters" are actually entries (so they're very short, but there'll be many of them) of different "little things". Here's the first one:

The Doorknob

On the front of my house lies a doorknob, just like all houses. Some doorknobs are dull and bronze, or gaudy and gold, or have different colored patterns swirling all about them. Not mine. My doorknob is completely, 100% unique. It's a perfect, little sphere of brushed, frosty metal. The silver shine of its character captures the colour of our teal door in such a way that overflows and bursts with personality. Ah yes, my teal door that contrasts artistically with the beige walls and ashy-chocolate shutters of my home. The house is not big, it is not new, nor is it fancy. It's just an average, boxy building with old concrete steps that are cracked along the bottom and circled with an old, bent, rusty fence that I'm sure - once upon a time - was silver. Silver metal loses its beauty in the process of aging...but not my doorknob. It'll age like wine with its one-of-a-kind appearance sparkling through every future year. I'm not quite sure why it makes me so happy. Maybe it's because I've never seen one remotely similar to it. I'm a huge fan of diversity. Or, maybe, it's because when I see it, it brings back thousands of memories of "where's the hole?", "Aw, I dropped it down there...", "There's a spider on it!", or "It won't turn!". Little times like that also bring a smile to my face, but that explanation will be saved for a later time. For now, I'll end with saying that; when I curl my fingers around that beautiful, frosty-silver doorknob, I know that I'm a second away from entering the peace and warmth of my safe-haven...my home.
