So I'm going to be in the US staying at my grandparents place for a month. Are there any books that you guys suggest I should read?

Depends what genres do you prefer or are you one of those people who just wants a good read no matter the genre.

The Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr) are fantastic books, i really recommend them.

Another amazing series is the Bartimaeus Trilogy (The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golems Eye, Ptolomys Gate).

I suggest both series, they are incredible stories and i gauruntee they'll pull you in for days on end.

Another great trilogy is Warcraft: War of the Ancients.

I'm a huge fan of fantasy novels, you might've guessed. ;)

Another good series is the Temeraire(sp?) series, started with " our majesty's dragon". Also, a good war book (if interested anyway) is "Steel my Soldiers Heart" by David E. Hackworth.

I've heard good things about Inheritance but I've only read Eragon. I'll try and get all of the books you guys suggested

Need to read brisingr myself, but I too highly recommend the bartimaeus trilogy. Even though the main character is a bit angsty at times.

I also recommend the Robot novels and the foundation series by Asimov.

If you're into spy's novels i recommend you Icon by Frederick Forsyth, which is a really good read.

Now, were i to point some of my personal favorites, i'd recommend Sinuhe the egyptian by Mika Waltari, Demian by Herman Hess and The great gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

If you are interested into other subjects like economics and politics (mostly economics) then there are two really good books that you should read, one is called Freakonomics by Steven Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner, this one is really easy to read and is actually quite interesting. The last one is a tough read, takes a while to go through it and i think it might require a bit of knowledge on economics, it's called The shock doctrine and the author is Naomi Klein.

A good read for me is any of the Casca series the fantasy adventures of a Roman centurion who witnessed the crucifixion of Jesus, and who, for mocking Him, was condemned to live through eternity as a mercenary soldier. Writen by Barry Sadler who also wrote a song The Ballad of The Green Berets http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH4-tOqLH94
