The Convention Against Abomination

#1
Reverand Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam wrote:That child is an abomination! ... Her mother deserves a punishment greater than anything in history. Death! It cannot come too quickly for that child or for the one who spawned her.
The Azhar Book of the Bene Gesserit wrote: It is with reason and terrible experience that we call the pre-born Abomination. For who knows what lost and damned persona out of our evil past may take over the living flesh?
Zorg wrote:It remains for the playerbase to condemn any such practices…
The venerable Nuada the Silverhand, Airgetlám of the Tuatha Dé Danann, slowly strode forth towards the podium. A deep and agonizing pain from many recent horrors was still as of yet impressed upon his flesh, for he had survived more chance with the Spirit of Death herself since that age gone by his very own head handed him, and still found himself recovering from his injuries.

His broad shoulders heaved as he periodically throughout the long walk audibly groaned. He wrung the hand that his nephew, Miach, had provided him, far less nervously than quite unconsciously. Several eons had passed since his dismemberment, and still quite new the hand felt. Before the podium at last, the harp of his ollamh was struck.

The harp was the harp of Eochaidh Ollathair, the Dag Dia. When struck, the seemingly magical harp, a technological innovation of an ageless people, had sung. Restored as he was by the Cauldron of Manannán mac Lir, he now was without vocal chords.

And so his plenary words for this gathering were conveyed by the harp now struck….

‘Friends, allies, enemies – Yes! – and also neutral parties now here gathered, I thank you for your concerns. I thank you for hearing our petition. I thank you for your patience in attendance at this gathering; and I thank you for your kindness in deigning have ears.

‘We have all our non-aggression pacts, our mutual defence pacts, our trade arrangements, our pacts of pledged offensives against others, our declarations of hostilities, our dealings behind closed doors, and even our wars. Nothing here shall violate or negate that.

‘We have gathered here not to unite, not to befriend, nor to lend mutual aid, nor to surrender contempt. We raid whom we please, but where one might with another have agreed. We continue to play the games of espionage and even dare treason. This remains.

‘What this day calls us here, despite antipathies, and despite suspicions, is the mutual concern of us all regarding a fabled Beast we call Abomination, a creature carrying the horrible arrogance of feeling elite and privileged in the frightful state of being pre-born.

‘Several have now suffered from an aggression born of this arrogance, a carelessness if not a contempt for those of us who live in our skin and whose knowledge and assets are nothing if not only but our very own. We respect natural growth and accomplishments.

‘Where we have lost our fleets, our fleets are lost to those who have sweat equity vested in their very own. Where we have lost our moons, our moons are lost to those who have sweat equity vested in their very own. We can all have a respect and admiration of that.

‘Where sweat equity has not been invested in the defence, research, fleet and construction – and where the fruits of our sweat equity may be lost to those who have not invested in this on their own – we note something else, for which respect and admiration are lost.

‘Respect and admiration are lost where one is ignorant of the time involved. Respect and admiration are lost where one is ignorant of the struggle and preparation involved. Where one has no sweat equity vested, one has for the notion of sweat equity no respect at all.

‘We subject other fleets to the Hunt of Cernunnos. We consign entire moons to Pit of Din Scaith. We smash other defences with the Whip of the Dullahan – and we do this with pleasure! We do this with a vengeance! We do this also with respect, and understanding.

‘We who know what it was to build know better what it means to have lost – and it is with this understanding in mind, against the careless arrogance of the pre-born, that we have today here gathered to discuss the terms of the proposal that I now bring to you:
The Universal Convention of Intolerance Towards Abomination wrote:
We, the parties, alliances, federations and entities undersigned ordain and establish this, The Universal Convention of Intolerance towards Abomination, the pre-born, the beasts assuming assets and knowledge to which they were not born, and have not of their own struggles earned, declaring against all and any such:

1) Enmity

That we never shall ally with such,

That we never shall shelter such,

That we never shall cooperate with such,

That we never shall trade with such,

That we never shall organize with such,

That we never shall communicate with such, and

That we never shall admit such within our ranks;

2) Hostility

That we shall always act to destroy the moons of such,

That we shall always act to destroy moons newly created by such,

That we shall always act to destroy the defences of such,

That we shall always act to destroy defences newly created by such,

That we shall always act to destroy the fleets of such,

That we shall always act to destroy fleets newly created by such, and

That we shall do this as often and in many ways as possible, and

That we shall not allow fleet or defences for such ever to return, but

Always and Only when in accordance with Universal Rules;

3) Cooperation

That we shall share knowledge of fleet construction by such,

That we shall share knowledge of defence construction by such,

That we shall share knowledge of moon creation by such, and

That we shall share locations of the planets, moons and fleets of such.

4) Remediation

That we shall each forge no non-aggression pact, mutual defence pact, pacts of trade, nor any other pact, agreement, and or terms for cooperation with entities, federations, organizations and alliances who shelter such and admit such in their ranks.

Towards a more respectfully competitive universe, we sign our names as the duly noted representatives of those entities, federations, alliances, and organizations we lead:
Nuada the Silverhand, for the Universal Federation……stood away now from the podium to let potentates from other realms now speak their piece...
Ní mar a shíltear a bhítear.
Ní féidir maraigh tú an Dullahan
Níl luibh ná leigheas in aghaidh an bháis.
