Re: Favorite OS for pc poll
#2Well, Zorg, as I see the current result, there is no news...
- Linux/Unix are usually for developers... Who like to write their own bugs...
- iOS is mostly used in the US, rarely used outside of it.
- Windows is for the mass non-US user, also lots of developers use it because it's the most common world-wide. But if they have the know-how, it's giving more functionality, easier and faster to do than Linus/Unix. Also without writing any single command in the command window.
- Chrome is too young to compete with the old hounds...

#8Zorg, no Mac OS X? And no complaints from Apple fans?
And *nix is not just for developers anymore. Ubuntu is a nice desktop and easy to install. And Android is a version of *nix, too.
Better my own bugs than the ones NSA made Microsoft, Google, etc. insert.FarmerJoe wrote:- Linux/Unix are usually for developers... Who like to write their own bugs...

iOS is iPhone's OS. Not at all rare outside or inside the US.- iOS is mostly used in the US, rarely used outside of it.
Microsoft has contracts with PC makers to pre-install Windows on almost every PC manufactured worldwide, inside or outside the US. It is "popular" with developers simply because it is ubiquitous and presents the biggest market for PC software. For any programmer whichever system they're most used to using is "easier and faster" than others. And real men do not fear the command line!- Windows is for the mass non-US user, also lots of developers use it because it's the most common world-wide.
